At the beginning, D'Argo's response to Aeryn saying that the ship in the cargo bay being a deadly hazard to Moya and crew? "We're already destroyed, Aeryn. It's just that some of us don't know it yet.", ?is a belief on his part that the crew is emotionally destroyed, and not that he thinks they will all die. I don't believe for a moment that Moya will be sacrificed! Nor even one of the regular crew! This is a reflection of the state of D'Argo's mind & low moral. All the near deaths & actual deaths, the emotional tug of war between Chiana & D'Argo and John & Aeryn, Pilot in a coma, Moya at death's door & with the possibility of abandoning Moya & Pilot, Zhaan's deteriorating health & Bailar Crais's seemingly profound loss at the thought of losing his one reason for existing [Zhaan], is having a toll on D'Argo, not to mention everyone else. It was good to see D'Aargo coming to some sort of terms with Chiana, even if only to be on speaking terms.

John's feelings/attachments to his buds & love for Aeryn, not even mentioning his fear for Zhaan's predicament, VS's his feelings for returning to Earth, are really being played out in this episode. His need to put problems on hold while investigating the wormhole seems to have put many things in jeopardy. I sympathize with his dilemma while sensing that this may be a common theme for a while. We see that John feels that he has some sense of obligation to go to Earth to share the knowledge and wonders he has experienced, not even to mention his acute homesickness. He views, and obviously so, the need to get to Earth before Scorpius and his legions can, not to mention some of the horrors that may get through from the UT to wreak havoc on the human race should the passage to Earth be left wide open!

As an afterthought, I wished I had kept this taped episode as I wanted to put in slow motion the feedback that Neeyala's Phaztillion Generator recorded in the wormhole, although I did recognize the 'Three Stooges' in the fast clip. Still, I would like to see all the pics that were on the recording & now I can't. [%$#*7@**!!]

Another Interion wakes up named Jool. How about that screech of hers?!?! Notice how her hair is lighter when she's placid and how it turns bright red when she's pi#@*ed or emotionally distraught? We get to see D'Argo do his tongue thing again to disable Jool, before she can off John, put up to it by pesky Rygel's lies about John that he fed to Jool. Still, his broken nose would be sufficient reason (in the view of some), a timely and opportune way to get back at a much more powerful opponent, even if that opponent were a friend and colleague.

What is with Stark hitting on Aeryn? Showing true colors to make it easy [for the viewing audience] to be the candidate to be offed? [If there truly is to be a candidate to be permanently offed!]

Can hardly wait to see how John evades the snake thingy.

    on wormhole tech:

in the episode in which crichton originally meets the wormhole aliens, they trap him by creating a fake wormhole showing Earth ('urp') at the far end. John takes the Farscape into the wormhole and arrives back on what he thinks is Earth ('urp') but is actually an illusion.

one point the aliens make in this episode (and now I think they did it deliberately) was to show Earth ('urp's') reaction to having an open wormhole in near orbit. in this scenario, the wormhole was permanently open, and had been directly over Earth ('urp') for several months. the human race is, to say the least, terrified, uncertain of what might come through the wormhole at any moment.

this was, of course, all part of the illusionary story the aliens created to study Crichton. however, i think they were also warning him, that the human race would be extremely vulnerable, if not defenseless, in the face of another species that could create such a gateway.

hence, in some sense, Crichton has already seen the terrible consequences this technology could bring, and that is one reason why I think he is now obsessed with establishing human control over access to wormholes.

Man! Now they are going to be chased by advanced peoples who want the Wormhole info. These guys can be made invisible.

OK, I relly thought Stark could have set off the reactor to separate the ships. He is, aferall, made up of energy. Right? Hecould have coallessed somewher else. Just doesnt make sense. However...since her soul was intermingled with his when she went..could she possibly have taken a part of his abilities.\? Hmmmmmmm

Otherwise...DAMN! I will miss her character immensley and I doubt this will sit very well with the fans.

So, does Chrighton still have that gizmo that recorded the wormhole stuff? His best friend still seems to be Scorpy! Go figure.

    Nommy,

Sit well with the fans? No, absolutely not!!

We went through week after week of "Death of the week" where everyone else recovered with a miracle (Actually, almost the whole season was miraculous re-incarnation for someone) and then, when it's such a simple plot point to find a planet Zhaan can root herself in, Real life comes in and frells it up. Zhaan is my favorite character, and she's gone just like that. And Nommy, I was rootin' for Starke to find a way through that door so he could disperse himself someplace else and save Zhaan too.

And, now, she's part of him. Lord please come up with another miracle to separate them and bring Zhaan back to us.

Uhm, am I the only one who recognized the plot device to bring her back shown in the next episode preview?

And we did see her reflection in the ship after she was gone, so she may not be completely gone...

The preview for next week had D'Argo telling Cricton something to the effect, "Don't change anything in this timeline, or we might change events as they happened!"

Gee, plot device to bring Zhaan back? And don't say they wouldn't do that, they already did with Cricton and Aeryn when they grew old on that planet....

SIW part II is a sobering episode. I didn't believe that any of the cast would be eliminated, but I stand corrected.

Now Zhaan is gone, & with her goes a very important part of the Moya family. What I want is for Zhaan to be somehow brought back, & there are indications that this would be possible (for one, she is listed on the rest of the eps, isn't she?), but if she is not brought back & simply resurrected via Stark's quasi mental abilities, then I think that would be disappointing. I resent the way the episode has unfolded.

[Azziz, just read your post about plot device to bring back Zhaan & I agree, but gonna put this next paragraph in anyways since I have it all typed out]

The trailer for next week deals with the Moya having time traveled, if I'm not mistaken. What if they pick up Zhann from the past? Not necessarily in next weeks' episode, but on down the line, when the writers & producers feel it is time to bring Zhaan back. Could happen! Another way to bring back Zhaan [and this isn't my idea, I read it from another poster somewhere.], deals with growing a seed from Zhaan to maturity & having Stark & the rest of the crew (Whomever had Unity with Zhaan), to then transfer Zhaan's essence back into the Zhaan clone/seed. This essentially happened in 'The Search For Spock'.

Jool was in form & luckily so, as her piercing scream blunted/melted Neeyala's poisonous barbs and saved Crighton. I was thinking that the sonic waves of Jool's screams, if it is possible to melt metal, most assuredly would destroy the tissues of the ear canal on living creatures. If and when, in the rest of the episodes, the crew repeatedly says ?.. 'What?', 'Huh?', 'Come again?', 'Say What?', & 'You wanna run that by me one more time?' ?..every time they gather for conversations, now you'll know why! Heheh.

I feel that Chiana & D'Argo will probably get closer again, if not back together. I guess that's a no brainer, in lieu of this episode.

Liked the way Rygel was affectionate to Pilot, even though Pilot was beginning to get uncomfortable about the situation. It was funny the way Rygel was petting Pilot.

One of those rare moments when Aeryn Sun displayed strong emotions, when she tried to stop Zhaan from triggering the Phaztillon Generator at the end.

Won't be the same till Zhaan is brought back!

    Asis?

The only thing I caught was that she may be part of Starke now. Kinda like John and the Scorpy clone thing. What'd you see?

Well, I haven't watched Farscape from the beginning, even though Nommy has been carping on me the last two years to watch. :-) In any event, having just started watching the essential Farscape episodes, and trying to catch up, it's fairly easy to see that Zhaan is the crew's spiritual center. They lost their soul when she departed.

As for bringing her back, I'm torn. Part of me wants to get to know her better, as she appeared to be a really great character. But part of me believes it would cheapen the series to bring her back. We've already seen it with Aeryn, and the doctor, and it's pretty cheap and easy. It's the kind of thing they do on Star Trek. I don't like it.

So, I guess in the final analysis, my vote would be don't bring her back. I guess I wouldn't object to growing a new Zhaan from a seed, but I think she should be someone different, though obviously played by the same actress. The new Zhaan shouldn't have access to her predecessor's life experiences, and should get to develop in her own way.

    Shoulda spaced Starke instead.
